Calling All Bloggers! I Need Your Help!

I'm now on my third (yes, third) web host in the past two weeks. Two were just downright shitty (random downtime, dead hard drive), and the one I'm currently at, runs Plesk on FreeBSD, which apparently has some all-powerful stranglehold on perl, making the admin scared to install DBD::MySQL for me.

I don't think my requirements are too insane: enough storage space for my photos, some bandwidth, PHP, and the perl modules to run MT. And the ability to host a second domain. I'm a student, so money is a concern, but I just want a reliable host (ie: little downtime, been in business more than 2 weeks).

What do you guys use? I've read the MT forums and some reviews, but I'd like to hear what actual bloggers use.

Cool idea for a website: recommendations from other bloggers like this, trackbacked-together using TB categories.

I use Cornerhost, which doesn't cost me much money and works pretty well. I've only seen one short outage in two months of using it.

You should also check Dreamhost and Verve Hosting. I've heard good things about them.

I can't help but suggest blogomania, which goes through host matters. My experiences with them have been so positive, with so much less hastle than the previous hosts; I've been with them longer than the other ones combined! So you might check them out... they have all required MT perl modules installed, and are really good about adding others if we need them. If you have other questions, let me know! :)

Dreamhost is good. But fully hosting a second domain will cost a couple extra bucks or so.

I heart Verve hosting. For $10 a month I get more space than I need, 2 domains on my account (with room for 3 more), bunches of e-mail addresses and subdomains plus other good stuff and absolute top-notch customer service.

Seriously, they rule.

Blogomania -- $12/month or $30/quarter, up to 20 domains/subdomains, 200MB disk space, 13GB bandwidth..the list goes on.

I have at least 5 domains hosted there.

I have only had 1 outage in the last year, and that was due to a DOS against Hosting Matters.
